PROTECTING OUR MEMBERS – OUR SECURITY PRACTICES AND POLICIES

In order for us to provide the level of security to your child that we do, we verify the identity of everyone requesting a membership to kiddzchat. The easiest and most reliable way we’ve found to do this is through the credit card number submitted when membership is paid for. Credit cards are handled by authorize.net (one of the largest credit card processors online) and every transaction is encrypted and secure. Only an adult with a valid credit card may sign their child up. Minors (under the age of 18) will not be allowed to freely sign up for a membership. The adult becomes the defacto administrator of the membership, with full administrative rights.

5 STEPS TO PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN

STEP 1:  Identification is verified through a valid credit card number (credit card processing is professionally handled by authorize.net).

STEP 2:  Identity of the cardholder is matched to a national criminal database for child predators and sex offenders.  

STEP 3: A – The prospective member’s name is not on the national database and membership is approved within 24 hours. OR B – The prospective member’s name IS on the national database and membership is NOT approved. The prospective member will be reported to the proper authorities and their membership fee (if they signed up for a premium membership) will not be refunded.

STEP 4: The new adult member uses the email address and password selected at the time they signed up to access the ‘parent side’ of the website and helps their child set up their child username/password (parents and children log in to different sides of the website).

STEP 5: You, the adult profile administrator, approve or deny any member on kiddzchat.com that requests to be your child’s online friend through a simple and quick process. Once the member is approved they will be added to your child’s friend list and be able to freely communicate with your child without any additional approval required by you. Any member that is not approved by you will not be able to contact your child or see any of their profile information. Any prospective member residing outside the US cannot be screened with the US national database but will also not be able to contact your child unless approved by you.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY

Premium memberships on kiddzchat.com must be paid in full and are valid for one year from the date of approval.  Premium memberships will incur an annual fee of $12.  Basic memberships are lifetime memberships and are billed a one-time fee of $2 – this covers all children in a household that wish to join on a basic membership.  Refunds will not be given and all membership sales are considered final. The only exceptions where refunds will be granted is in the event that kiddzchat.com website is terminated or if a member is billed more than once for their yearly membership. (THERE WERE TWO PERIODS AT THE END OF THIS SENTENCE) All members will be reimbursed for their unused membership at a monthly rate that will be pro-rated if kiddzchat.com is terminated. If a member is billed more than once for a membership they will be refunded the amount they were overbilled.

PRODUCTS/SERVICES

Kiddzchat.com currently offers two types of memberships. Our ‘basic’ ($2) membership allows a parent to sign up any child living in their household for this type of membership and the membership is good for life. Our ‘premium membership’ ($12 yearly membership) gives members access to our instant message (IM) program as well as parents’ access to future offers that we are currently developing with local/national merchants. It also gives premium members an option to have an email address at kiddzchat (your.name@kiddzchat.com). YOU MUST REQUEST THIS EMAIL ADDRESS AT KIDDZCHAT.COM. Our IM is the most unique and fun IM on the net today and carries the same level of security by not allowing any unauthorized person to chat with our members while using this service. We are confident our members will find this IM tool to be the most fun they’ve ever had while IMing their friends on our site.
